The same rules of etiquette apply when entering an on or offline conversation. If you want to be heard, you have to read the pulse of the discussion and find ways to actually contribute something. Off-topic remarks, self-serving marketing speak or inappropriate tone will alienate you from the conversation, so entering it properly is part of the word of mouth challenge.
