Baltimore's Mad Men (The Daily Record)

With the third season of Mad Men premiering, The Daily Record interviewed Baltimore advertising professionals about the differences and similarities between modern-day agency life and the 1960s office depicted in AMC's hit series.

MGH Creative Director John Patterson, who started working in the ad industry in the 1980s, is an avid fan of the series. He spoke about how the essence of the industry — thinking of an idea and selling it to a client — is the same now as it was then.

In the article, he mused about a modern take on the show: "There would still be a lot of interpersonal drama — it would just have different boundaries than in the 1960s. Advertising is a high-pressure business. We're not saving lives, but we're always under deadlines."

Hello, we're MGH! A Baltimore, Maryland advertising agency, public relations firm, interactive development company, word of mouth agency, guerilla marketing firm, design agency, viral marketing firm, and social media marketing company, all rolled into one. It's like a bunch of agencies, but that takes a while to say. So we simply call what we do "modern marketing." It means being able to employ every available communications medium to sell, promote, and otherwise market our clients. We've been at it since 1995 with great success. Take a look.
