MGH's Kathleen Shaffer Joins Inaugural Class of GIVE Program

BALTIMORE (March 30, 2010) - Kathleen Shaffer, public relations account manager at MGH, has been selected to participate in the inaugural class of Business Volunteers Unlimited Maryland's Getting Involved with Volunteer Experiences (GIVE) program. The initiative introduces young professionals to how they can improve their communities through volunteerism and leadership.

GIVE classmates will spend the next two years with like-minded professionals learning about issues facing the community and developing civic leadership skills. The experience will culminate in a volunteer leadership position with a nonprofit.  During the first year of the program, the class will participate in learning seminars, volunteer opportunities and networking events.  The second year of the program is a blend of intensive leadership development and continued participation in class events and seminars.  Participants will also gain hands-on board experience by serving on the GIVE advisory board.

BVU is a nonprofit organization that strengthens the community by connecting people and businesses with the organizations that need their help. BVU coordinates volunteer activities, trains and places business professionals on nonprofit boards of directors, and provides board consulting and training services to nonprofits.

Hello, we're MGH! A Baltimore, Maryland advertising agency, public relations firm, interactive development company, word of mouth agency, guerilla marketing firm, design agency, viral marketing firm, and social media marketing company, all rolled into one. It's like a bunch of agencies, but that takes a while to say. So we simply call what we do "modern marketing." It means being able to employ every available communications medium to sell, promote, and otherwise market our clients. We've been at it since 1995 with great success. Take a look.
