MGH Wins Prestigious District Two ADDY
and Webby Award for Towson University
Microsite
Baltimore marketing, advertising and PR agency's microsite design wins Silver ADDY at the District Two Level and has been selected as an Official Honoree of the 15th Annual Webby Awards
BALTIMORE (May 17, 2011) - MGH, a full-service marketing communications agency, today announced that the microsite it developed for Towson University's "Thinking Outside" campaign has won a Silver ADDY at the District Two level, and has been selected as an Official Honoree of the 15th Annual Webby Awards. The Towson University microsite won a Gold ADDY at the local level from the American Advertising Federation of Baltimore, before advancing to the District II level competition.
Five years ago, MGH launched the "Thinking Outside" branding campaign to help Towson University promote the partnerships it has developed with communities, businesses and government organizations. The newly launched "Thinking Outside" microsite showcases some of Towson University's efforts - from its partnership with Baltimore's Cherry Hill neighborhood, to uncovering forensic evidence that helped re-open a cold case in Vermont - and features a dramatic, multimedia overview of Towson's programs.
"We're thrilled to have received an award at the District Two level, which includes agencies from all over the region including New York, and a prestigious Webby award for the microsite we developed to highlight some of the amazing things Towson University is doing in our community and beyond," commented MGH President Andy Malis. "MGH has been a part of the 'Thinking Outside' campaign from the beginning, and we're honored to see the work we created for them being recognized on a local, regional and national level."
The ADDY competition is the industry's largest and most representative competition - attracting more than 50,000 entries every year in local ADDY competitions. Gold winners from the show will automatically move on to the regional District Two competition, competing with agencies from Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet. Established in 1996 during the Web's infancy, the Webbys are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, which includes an Executive 750-member body of leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities, and Associate Members who are former Webby Award Winners and Nominees and other Internet professionals. The Academy has acknowledged outstanding entries as Official Honorees, a distinction awarded to the top 10 percent of all work entered that exhibits remarkable achievement.
