Public Relations & Marketing Senior Account Executive - Remote Eligible
 

MGH, a full-service marketing communications agency recognized as one of Ad Age’s 2019 and 2020 Best Places to Work, is currently seeking a talented Public Relations and Marketing Senior Account Executive to join our team. Qualified candidates will have 4-6 years of public relations agency experience, have strong written and verbal communications skills and excel at managing multiple projects for multiple agency clients at the same time.

The selected candidate will work closely with our strong, deeply experienced senior team that’s committed to mentoring our team members and investing in their growth. The assigned accounts will be a mixture of business-to-consumer and business-to-business clients.

This position is eligible for 100% remote work, with occasional (quarterly) meetings or client events either at our office in Hunt Valley, Md., or a client location.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead day-to-day execution of media relations and thought leadership content development for multiple agency accounts
  • Develop and lead execution of strategic tactical execution plans and pitch cadences, including drafting media materials (press releases, media advisories, contributed byline columns and briefing/key message documents)
  • Identify appropriate target media outlets for client pitches, with a customized approach for each
  • Draft compelling media pitches that break through and get noticed
  • Identify and capitalize on media trends to insert our clients into the news cycle
  • Communicate and collaborate directly with clients to execute deliverables, including content development/approval and media opportunity coordination
  • Manage and mentor junior staff on their supporting roles/deliverables for assigned accounts/projects
  • Develop client-ready presentations and reports in accordance with client scopes of work
  • Execute multiple tasks simultaneously, under tight deadlines
  • Review/proof all materials before sending to clients

What We Want from You:

  •  4-6 years of public relations experience in an agency setting
  • Ability to effectively and clearly communicate with internal and external audiences, both written and verbal
  • Proven experience in meeting aggressive timelines, including working with multiple integrated departments
  • Exceptional writing skills (and proficient in AP Style) with experience pitching TV and print/online media, writing press materials (press releases, media advisories, media pitches, etc.)
  • Ability to be proactive and use critical thinking skills to solve problems
  • Self-starter who is flexible, adaptable and able to work professionally with a variety of personalities
  • Must be self-motivated and able to take the initiative to get the job done
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding but also fun environment
  • Experience managing junior staff is preferred
  • Experience integrating PR efforts with social media content and/or paid media efforts is preferred
